a time of new beginnings
shedding a layer of yourself
fresh and clean
a blank paper in front of you
ready to be painted on
a ball of yarn yet to be used
the old year
flapping out the window
desperate to be free
then catching an up draft
the old year gently begins to float up
the higher it goes
the more it is lost to us
soon to be completely forgotten
