To all the children who are fast asleep
A curtain of hair falls across her face
As she brushes it back without slowing her pace
A sliver of moonlight guides her step
As she glances to the sky from which she lept
Then she reaches her slender hand down to the bed
And bestows peaceful dreams on the little one's head
In the blink of an eye she is gone from the room
To go help more children sleeping in gloom
And visiting their sleep before starting to fly
Back over the rooftops and into the sky
