A fiery sphere bursts through
Grey trunks of dawn
Silent grasses wave
In a faint zephyr
The sun rises
A haze of golden dust
Descends upon the earth
Warming the ground
Emerald leaves
Now ruby in the light
Across the field
A house is lit by the sunshine
The upper window is open
Letting in the bird's sweet song
The chill of morning
The light
Inside, a girl wakes
Rubs her bleary eyes
Her smile thick with sleep
She rises and pulls back the shade
She wouldn't miss it for anything
Sunrise
