Night
An original poem by Claire
The mist enshrouds everything
An original poem by Claire
The mist enshrouds everything
Sifting through the treetops
Hanging in the silent air
Your face and hair sparkle
Your footsteps
Echoing against the damp pavement
But you feel
As though you are
Walking through the clouds
Surreal
The birds shiver
And burrow deeper
Into their nests
Eerie
The trees follow you
With their silent gaze
Streetlamps
Are
Pools of gold
In the ebony darkness of night
Other worldly
Tendrils of mist
Wind around your ankles
The moon
Hidden by a veil of clouds
Watches you and smiles
And the stars are
Pinpricks of light
Dancing just for you
