The Story of my Blog Title

Quilt of Dragonflies- My blog is named that for a reason.I am lucky enough to own a genuine Quilt of Dragonflies, which I am sure brings me good dreams when I sleep beneath it. It was given to me by a friend of my mother's, who handmade the entire thing. Color meets pattern in this fantastic piece of artwork which sits on my bed. Brilliant shades of purple, blue, and green intersperse with tie dye dragonflies. I will not hesitate to call it my inspiration.

I have a truth to tell

I have a truth to tell.
When the rain dances down to the pavement
Sometimes sideways in the wind, always falling to the earth in time
And the cars make whooshing noises as they pass with headlights glowing in the late afternoon. When thunder laughs, deep in its throat and tosses lightning carelessly downward, and the green of leaves is so bright against the grey that it blinds.
These are the moments of clarity, when the water swirls around ankles in the gutters and there is a simple peace sitting by a window.

This is my serenity.

  1. Well written claire....well its first time i have visited your two blogs. You write quite well. And i think you should publish your poem with a picture in background which would do poetic justice to it.
Your poem shows your philosophical and introvert nature....I don't know if its true... Anyways this poem is my picture about how you see world...

In the lanes and roads, In the grains of sand ,
In the cheers of crowds , or in the silence of woods..
    Wherever i may be,
My Desires will always be young...!!!
Sometimes, moments fly away with Blue silences..
    You’re not on ground..You’re not in Air…In short..You’re not in your Senses…
And deep with in..You realize…That you are just with yourself and unforgettable frozen moments…

    2. Hey Claire,
Hope you are enjoying your travel. Do keep updating your experiences.
Anyways, i went through your other blog and realized you are an avid nature lover and even your profile pic says so...So i thought lets dedicate a small broken poem for this nature loving lady.....Hope you like it and ...also a reminder....Your poem is due...

Nature has a feeling and an eternal life,
In silence they speak happiness beyond the reach of books,
Its birth is heaven, eternal is its stay,
It is the green life of change, never to pass away.

I love nature with a boundless love,
The winds breathe happiness where ever I rove,
The calm of earth, the flowers glow,
There's serenity in the music of river flow.

The rolling sea and snow mountain,
A rainbow in mist of twilight rain,
The wide blue sky above and high,
There lives happiness for me, I dream to fly.
